Do you like to taste Oishii Curry?
In our part of
the world curry is life. In times passed girls were thought to make
tasty curry according to their family recipes and given in marriage
to young men from families selected by the parents. The young ladies
in turn kept their husbands and families well fed and happy. The men
were under obligation to be good providers, look after their women
and children well and never start up any controversy with their Mothers
in Law. This lady was the key to family happiness; she was the provider
of the secret recipes that facilitated this harmonious life.
Then some men like me discovered that we could cook tasty curries
as well as our women counterparts. We discovered that getting involved
in other family chores on an equal basis kept our partners happy.
This discovery and the need for convenient family meal solutions drove
me on to become one of Sri Lanka’s better known Curry makers.
